October 1st | Roche-A-Cri Mound, Wisconsin Sunset
After a busy summer, Sophie and I had our hearts set on a quiet weekend away at the Wisconsin lake house and decided to make a break for it on the first weekend of October. It would be a little bit too early for peak fall foliage, but it's what we had to work with.
After spending an afternoon in the Dell's, we decided to get into the woods for an evening hike. It had been cloudy and dreary all afternoon long with a light rain/mist as we talked through the woods. The magic hour hit though, and as the sun slid down to the horizon it found a small gap in the clouds and the sky erupted in flames. This happened to time perfectly with us hitting the top of Roche-A-Cri mound with a view of the expansive Wisconsin horizon.
When you get outside, good things happen.
