New camera & sunset!
After 8 years, I've finally got a new DSLR in my hands. I'd been shooting with the same Canon XT that I bought in 2007 and figured I would just run it into the ground. Well, the thing wouldn't die, and has lived long enough to see it replaced by a Canon 60D. Probably the biggest difference I'm going to enjoy is the most basic - longer battery life and more storage space for those long time lapse shoots!
Anyway - it could dreary and cloudy the first few days after the camera arrived so once the clouds broke I had to get out and shoot the sunset! I made a canine friend too as a local farm dog came over to hang while I shot the setting sun.
I drove and drove looking for a deserving spot for the cameras virgin expedition and finally settled on this little barn and trees. It brought back some vague memories, some faint dejavu - likely a spot I'd discovered and photographed when I was 16 or 17 on those first adventures.
There were two dogs on the farm where I shot - one hung back and barked from afar - the other was my companion for the house or so that I hung around.
